Sometimes you do wonder about other countries’ educational systems. But I always thought, that atrocities like the holocaust would be known on this side of the globe as well. Looks like history in school is an elective. What a shame…
Students showed up dressed as Nazis at an Oktoberfest at Lincoln University, organized by the halls of residence. Ms Harte, the student’s association at Lincoln, didn’t seem to attribute a lot of common knowledge to the first year students:
[Ms Harte] said many of the students who attended were first years and may not know have known what the “holocaust was all about”.
What a lame excuse…
