Ice, ice, baby!

Man, what a long trip… After checking out at 11am, I had to wait till 3.20pm for my bus to pick me up and take to me to Vancouver, Intl. Airport. After a long time waiting (actually programming a wee bit!), I got picked up. While the bus still had to wait for some people, rumors spread that there was an accident on one of the lifts. As it turned out, one of the gondola towers of the Excalibur lift had collapsed. Nice! Lucky me, that I had to leave and didn’t have time for boarding…
Finally arriving at the airport meant more waiting, since my plane was scheduled to leave just before midnight. Anyway, used the free WLAN to surf and code a bit more. But, being finally on the plane, didn’t involve a departure on time. No, thanks to some bad weather hitting Vancouver, our plane had to be deiced. In a nutshell: left an hour later and I missed my connecting flight in Sydney.
In the end, I arrived 4h later than anticipated (i.e., 8.30pm). Poor Jody had been waiting at the airport for ages, since she already picked up a friend of hers, arriving around lunchtime. 🙁 But, on the upside, home again! 🙂
