Crystal clear

Well, still down at the mountain, but the weather has turned ape shit: from blue sky the day before, into lots of rain. Yukky! Only things left to do: sleeping in and playing Scrabble. That’s at least a game that one can play with just one arm/hand.
Later that night, we went for a little drive and ended up in Ohakune, taking pictures of the giant carrot there and having dinner at The Cyprus Tree (a wee bit drafty, but very good food!). On the way back, we stumbled across the movie theater in Ohakune. It had two shows on that week: on Wednesday (i.e., today!), Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and on Friday, How She Move. We still had an hour to kill, but we decided to hang around the book shop there and sit a bit in the car before trying to buy a ticket…
Man, I haven’t been to such an old movie theater in the last 15 years!! Old creaky leather chairs, manually focused projector (nope, not digital!). And for 10 bucks, you even got a nice big screen – as big as one in current movie theaters, where you have to pay $14.50 for the same movie! The movie was good fun, not a lot of CGI, just plain old hand-built sets. Cool!! 🙂
